A new church is born in the upstate of South Carolina, for the Glory of God. Emmanuel Upstate is multiethnic, bilingual, and as real as the society we live in. Come join us for contemporary, vibrant and diverse worship in Greenville, South Carolina! You are welcome if you know the Bible well, or if you’ve never opened it; if you speak multiple languages, or just one; if you were born and raised in this country, or if you just arrived yesterday.
Our schedule on Sundays:
9:45am Adult discipleship classes for men (Manse) and women (Cafeteria)
11:00am Bilingual Worship Service in the Sanctuary*
12:15pm Refreshments and fellowship in the Cafeteria
*Our worship service is for all ages. We do, however, offer a separate class for children ages 4-12 during the sermon.
What is a bilingual worship service like?
We sing songs, hymns and psalms in both English and Spanish. Most of the service takes place in both languages. The sermon itself is monolingual (either English or Spanish, depending on the day), but we always offer interpretation/translation into the other language via receivers and headphones which we provide.
How should I dress?
You are welcome to dress however you prefer! On any given week, we have people dressed in suits and dresses, and folks in jeans and flip flops. God shows no partiality!
